The Seventh Day *

 

On the first day
God made light and darkness  
        and God saw that it was good

On the second day
God made the water and the sky
        and God saw that it was good

On the third day
God made land and plants and trees
        and God saw that it was good

On the fourth day
God made the sun and the moon and the stars
        and God saw that it was good

On the fifth day
God made fish and birds
        and God saw that it was good

On the sixth day
God made animals, one of them man,
        and god hoped that it was very good

On the seventh day god rested
and left the finishing touches
to the Honourable, the Minister of Home Affairs
who, in 1985, made:

    702 Coloureds White
    19 Whites Coloured
    1 Indian White
    3 Chinese White
    50 Indians Coloured
    43 Coloureds Indian
    21 Indians Malay
    30 Malays Indian
    249 Blacks Coloured
    20 Coloureds Black
    2 Blacks Other Asians
    1 Black Griqua
    11 Coloureds Chinese
    3 Coloureds Malay
    1 Chinese Coloured
    8 Malays Coloured
    3 Blacks Malay
    and The Minister knew that it was very good
