                                      Touch

Our feet drag lines a million
lines which curl a billion, trillion
wrap around the world they wind go left
and right and in and out and
under over up, by day by night
these twisted lines which tangle, stretch

but seldom, ever, touch

a fleeting gasp

                                            a clutching

                                         holding

                                         slippin
g

moon-round breath

before they swirl away, and in
and up and round and out and
through and over down and under
                                unseen  starts and ends
these  time-thinned lines a trillion lives
                                which curl, a billion, million
                                feet drag lines….
