                              Divorce

                                     With uncertain paws
                                      the puppies feel the darkness
                                      push their noses
                                      into bone and barren
                                      faith
                                      while across the town
                                      the male lies teatless
                                      in uneasy sleep
                                      and stirs with dreams of death
