Three poems - "I am"
(1)
I
am
therefore
it is
on
the cusp of time
I
link the two infinities
yet they will stay apart until
I die
when
they shall flow together
and
drift into countless nothingness
and neither it will be
I
am
I
have always been
I
shall always be
I
have been since before the beginning
I
shall be beyond the end
but in-betweeen
in
this
agonizing
glorious
fleeting
moment
I
am
universally
me
I look into the eyes of my mother
and
I see the restless origins
I
look into the eyes of my children
and
I see ambiguous endings;
but
when I look into the mirror,
when
I look between the eyebrows and the cheekbones
behind
the faintly quivering flesh of eyelids,
when
I look within the liquid, off-white ovals
holding
glistening, green-brown circles,
when
I stare into the core
of
the quiet, small, black holes
I
see
the universe
